The Karate Kids program is
for kids 6 & 1/2 to 11
where students are constantly encouraged to
do and be their best. As a result, kids
learn self-discipline, good manners, integrity,
and sportsmanship... character traits that will
take them far in life.
At this period in their
lives, children are faced with conflict,
moral dilemmas, school, and a many issues
they have never had to face before. They
are beginning to develop their independence at
this age and friends are becoming more
important and influential. Kids in
this age group need to learn how to deal with
conflict and peer pressure.
Our program is
especially valuable to those children that do
not thrive in the unforgiving world of team
sports. In our program, each child is
encouraged to learn at their own pace and
value his/her own achievements.
We teach kids the 5
aspects of learning and training;
1) How to become the
BEST they can be!
2) How
to rate their own effort,
3) How
to develop healthy competition,
4) How to
fully focus on doing the task at hand, and
5) To monitor how they are learning and
improving.
Children are taught to
view mistakes as input to help them
succeed. We allow them to make mistakes
without judgment, learn from the mistakes, and
continue to work until they succeed at a task.
Our system of stripes
and colored belts shows them how to set
short and long-term goals rewarding
them for practice. |
